Klatch was our very first California roasting partner, and after years of working together, they remain one of the roasters I get most excited to feature. Family-owned and Southern California-based for over 30 years, Klatch is built on what they call their "peak of flavor method" — a mix of coffee artistry and mad science, obsessively documented over countless tastings to coax every bean to its absolute best. Their roaster Mike Perry even holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, and it shows. Direct trade sourcing, paying farmers at least 25% above Fair Trade minimums and often double or triple. Cup of Excellence quality only. Roast Magazine's Micro Roaster of the Year, multiple Good Food Award winners, and home of the World's Best Espresso. Simply put: you can't go wrong with Klatch. In the cup, expect an enormous range of exceptional coffees, from stunning Hawaiian lots and Panama Geishas to crowd-pleasing blends that satisfy every kind of coffee drinker. Start Here: Brazil Diamond Reserve, a natural processed direct-trade lot with rich chocolate brownie depth, toffee sweetness, and a gentle cherry lift. A longstanding personal favorite, especially as cold brew on a warm day.
