Pedestrian Coffee
Pedestrian Coffee was founded on a simple but powerful idea: extraordinary coffee for everyday people. Chicago-based founder Tim Taylor, a board member of the Alliance for Coffee Excellence and a friend I've had the pleasure of working alongside through Cup of Excellence, started Pedestrian because he watched ordinary people get discouraged from specialty coffee by the culture and the cost. His answer was to source directly from farms he's personally visited, pay two to three times the fair trade price, and make exceptional coffee genuinely accessible. Two of his four kids have already joined him on origin trips. That's the kind of person Tim is. In the cup, expect beautifully sourced, fruit-forward, ethically transparent coffees that are anything but pedestrian. Start Here: Ethiopia Lalesa Natural, a raspberry and pomegranate-toned natural from the Gedeb region with rosehip florals and a clean, juicy sweetness. Bright, expressive, and utterly unforgettable over ice.
