Longshoreman's Daughter Coffee
Lori Mason, the eponymous Longshoreman's Daughter, has been roasting coffee in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood since 1982, making her one of the longest-running specialty roasters in the city and a true godmother of the Seattle coffee scene. Her cafe, ETG (Espresso To Go), is a cozy, chandelier-bedecked space that has outlasted trends, giants, and decades of change in a neighborhood that looks nothing like it used to. Female roasters are still a rarity in the industry. Organic-only sourcing is rarer still. Lori does both, roasting small batches on her sunny yellow 12-kilo roaster and developing a unique profile for every hand-selected bean. A true Seattle original. In the cup, expect roasty, toasty, well-developed coffees with a savory edge — fruit and florals with a side of spice, molasses, and smoke. Always balanced. Always Lori. Start Here: Holy Ship!! Blend, a medium-dark seasonal classic with dark chocolate, plum cake, and a brown sugar Tootsie Roll finish. One of our most beloved dark roasts on the platform, and a true Seattle legend in a bag.
